 Atticus

Introducing Atticus! Now that he’s been part of the team for a while, we have affectionately given him the title of “Captain of Chaos”. As you can imagine, this role requires his full attention at the home office, but he has popped into the office once or twice.

Atticus is a Belgian Malinois. He’s one of those dogs that you see in videos where they’re running UP buildings or jumping extreme distances. He is an endless bundle of energy who has a great appetite and will steal your food if given the chance. Believe it or not, one of his favorite snacks is carrots. And there is no stuffed toy that can hold up to this young one!

He is the type of dog that isn’t a good fit for everyone due to his extreme energy, intelligence, drive, and generally challenging personality. This is important to note as this means I really have to think through what would happen to him if something happened to me. It is not uncommon for pets to have special needs and that is absolutely something that needs to be discussed and included in your estate plan. While I think most of us expect to outlive our furry-feathered-scaly-fluffy family members, we cannot simply ignore the fact that the unexpected can and does happen. Planning today can ensure that your loved ones are taken care of, whether a spouse, a child, a friend, or your Atticus.
